March 14 - TEDTalks
The following titles are series of TEDTalks.  Netflix will find them if you search by the series title - not necessary to precede it with TEDTalks. If you want to bring them all up, search for TED. The good news: All TEDTalks are available to watch free at ted.com, so don't worry if you don't have time to get to them. The not as good news: At ted.com, they aren't grouped the same way as at Netflix (under series titles), so you might want to note the names of the individual talks you want to see, along with the speakers' names.

March 31
I have divided the March 31 titles into 3 groups: Movies, more traditional TV Series, and Reality TV Series. I hope this makes it easier to find what you're most interested in.

March 31: Movies
101 Dalmatians (1996)

Note: I couldn't find Ancient Extraterrestrials on either Rotten Tomatoes or IMDb. IMDb does have a page for the author, Zecharia Sitchin, and there is a title that sounds close, but is 5 hours long. Also on the author page is a message board entry with a website that counters his ancient alien theories.
Bad Johnson (2014)
Bandolero! (1968)
Bandslam (2009)

    1. Oops! Not much chance for me these days of finding anything that isn't already here. Other contributors are doing an excellent job, and the blog in general is looking great. Thanks for the service you provide.

    2. It's always nice to hear from you, Linklisa. I was rushing the other day, so I'll take this opportunity to tell you how much I appreciated your review of The Last White Knight (now expired). Should you find yourself with a few minutes to spare, your thoughts about what you've seen are always welcome.

And, for everyone, on that same subject: Everything on the We Recommend / Or Not page for Titles Scheduled to Expire is - gulp - expired! Crikey! The page will be empty!!

Please help replenish it with a review - long or short, positive or negative - about one of the expiring movies or shows you have watched. Even a sentence or two is welcome, or maybe just some interesting facts about the film/show. I know we have lots of would-be critics out there. Let us hear from you! Just click on We Recommend / Or Not on the page tab bar beneath the blog title, and put your review in the Comments there. I'll find a picture for it, and make it part of the page.

    1. Jadyn - and all others who anxiously await the full 3/31 list:

As I've said before, we will post newly discovered expiring titles as soon as we find them. There are several additions for 3/31 on today's list.

When you don't see any new titles for that - or any other day - that means we don't have anything new for that day, yet.

On March 25, all expiring titles for 3/31 will have an "Available until" notice on the Netflix streaming site. Around the same time, Netflix will release its monthly list of expiring titles to the various news media. Then we can be fairly sure we've got something very close to a complete list, but until then, you'll just have to keep checking back.

The people who contribute to this site work hard to get the titles to you as soon as possible. Keeping Netflix lists, and checking them regularly takes time. So does checking from different sources, which many also do. Please be patient.

  3. Things have been rather slow lately - except on the We Recommend / Or Not page. I’m thrilled to say that several contributors have generously shared reviews, thoughts, and interesting information for lots of the expiring titles.

If you haven’t checked them out yet, I hope you will. Even if you have, there’s something new almost every day! You can click on the link for “our reviews / info” after the many titles above that have them, or access the page on the page-tab bar directly below the blog title banner.

And don’t forget, we also have reviews for titles that aren’t expiring. At the top of the We Recommend page, there are links to various other pages, including one for New and Existing Titles - there’s a new review there for the series, Velvet.

    Happy reading, and happy viewing!

  4. should i expect more end of the month titles to show up or do you think most the titles that are supposed to expire on the last day of march are already here.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Always expect more titles to expire. Since there are still two weeks left in the month, in another week most of the expiring titles lists should be online. There isn't a set number of titles that expire every month.

  5. Curious George is moving to Hulu in an exclusive streaming deal with NBC Universal (NBCU) that will include all past and future seasons plus all Curious George films. Hulu has also obtained exclusive streaming rights to Battlestar Gallactica (my favorite CSI-fi show after Doctor Who) and to the SyFy series, 12 Monkeys. In the past, NBCU has had a good relationship with Netflix so this is yet another sign that TV producers in Hollywood view Netflix as a growing threat to the cable business.

    1. Thanks for the info, Wellesley72.

I re-checked all the single-show Curious George programs - so far, no expiration date, so they should be around for another month, at least.

I'm assuming the Battlestar Gallactica in question is the 2004-2009 series, not the 1978 single season series, currently on Netflix (no expiration date at this time).

  6. 4/1
    Pepe (1960) 2:37
Stars Cantinflas of Around the World in 80 Days with lots of cameos

I actually tried to watch this and made it about 30 minutes into it before deciding that I didn't want to spend another 2 hours of my time on it. Not outright horrible, just not much of anything. Sometimes movies fade into obscurity for a good reason.

Pretty sure Carol wants these mini-reviews on the We Recommend/Or Not page.

    2. Achernar, I copied your comment to the We Recommend / Or Not page - I hope that's okay with you. It's not a problem that you put it here, since you were adding the title. Although for all those reading, will g is correct - reviews, long or short, ideally go on the other page. Thanks to you both.

    1. Thanks, will g - it's so good of you to keep on top of the press releases. They're especially valuable for those series that have only 1 of the available seasons expiring (like Eureka and Freakshow), because, typically, Netflix never puts up an "Available until" notice for that circumstance.

I'm impressed with how few titles there are that we haven't already found. Netflix, however, missed a bunch that our sharp-eyed, dedicated contributors DID find - a total of 37 more movies appear on our 3/31 list that are NOT in the press release. And that's just for that one day.

Great job, everybody! Netflix ought to put YOU on the payroll, and make the press release a lot closer to the "Everything leaving" that they claim.

    2. They have to do it on purpose because for netflix it should be an easy database query to get a list. They must not want everyone yelling at them about how much they are truly getting rid of.

  9. Am I the only one that has had trouble loading their Netflix list lately? In the past, it would load a small list, and then if I'd refresh it, I'd get the entire list and could then check for anything that was leaving.

Lately, no matter what browser or computer I use, the list basically fails to load all the way. Almost no images and maybe a list with a maximum of forty titles or so. Clearly an issue on Netflix's end, but it's been going on for about a week...
