May 1
Hamza's Suitcase (2017)
Hoarders - Season 10 (2019)
Note for Hoarders: Season 10 will be replaced by Season 11 on May 2, so the only place you will see an availability notice is at the beginning of an episode.
May 7
The Chosen Ones (2015)
Notes for The Chosen Ones: 1) This is a movie. There is also a series titled The Chosen One (singular) that is not expiring. 2) The Rotten Tomatoes scores for this film are 85% positive for critics, and 73% positive for audience. However, all of the critic reviews are cautionary based on the difficulty of the subject matter, so you might want to check those out before watching.
House at the End of the Street (2012)
May 10
The Beginning of Life: The Series - 1 Season (2016)
Note for The Beginning of Life: There is also a related movie with the same title, but it is not currently scheduled to expire.

The Magic School Bus - Season 1 (1997) Renewed
The Magic School Bus - Seasons 2-4 (1997)
Note for The Magic School Bus: Also streaming are four "The Magic School Bus Rides Again" shows - three short films and one 2-season series. None of those are currently scheduled to expire.

Jeopardy! - 2 Collections (2019)
Note for Jeopardy!: These collections have been renewed a couple of times, now, with this as the new last day to watch. Note that you will only see an expiration notice when an episode is played, not on the information page. Best guess is that they plan to replace the current Collections with new ones.
June 1
Alone - Season 6 (2019)
Note for Alone: Season 6 will be replaced by Season 7 on June 2.
Contract (2008)
Dear Dad (2016)

War on Everyone, aka Dirty Cops - War on Everyone (2016)
Wish Man (2019)
New Note for Wish Man: There is no "last day to watch" notice on the info page for this film. We're not sure why it's not there, but another such film (The Healer) did, indeed, expire. If you want to see Wish Man, safe bet is to watch now. For more details, click here.
June 12
The Ant's Scream, aka Ant Scream (2010)
The Cell (2017)
Convict (2014)
Note for Convict: I could not find this Egyptian film on Rotten Tomatoes or IMDb, however, there is an Australian flim with the same title and year (not on Netflix) that comes up on both websites, so be aware that it isn't the same film.

Expiring dates are no longer showing on the manual My List :( So really REALLY appreciate this blog!
ReplyDeleteMuch gratitude for everyone of you!
you're welcome, it's easy to contribute, and be sure to let netflix know you miss seeing those! they might bring them back if people complained to them directly.
DeleteAnyone report this a bug. Or is it intended? I remember a couple years ago it was a bug they took a couple months to fix. Argh! I am reporting it as a bug
Deletelet us know how it went. Sho 'Nuff? Sho 'Nuff.
DeleteReporting bug reports to Netflix is like getting anal surgery but they filed the bug report. Better yet I followed Travis instructions;
Deletetake to twitter and use the hashtag #fixmylist. as well as explaining the problem to @netflix, @NetflixUIE, @WeAreNetflix, and @NetflixEng, include engineers @coleturner and @burgessdryan. with the previous my list problems, tweeting complaints eventually worked. there hasn't been much uproar over this particular issue yet.
I used to see expiring titles on My List but not anymore did they remove that? Without that how do I know when something expires? Without clicking on every single title in my list
ReplyDeleteYes the expiration dates are no longer showing on My List. The only way to see them is on the detail page for each title. If you have a Smart TV or Roku you can just hover over the posters in your My List and see the date, as Carol explained here.
Deletehttps://expiringonnetflix.blogspot.com/2021/01/current-expiring-titles-for-netflix-usa.html?showComment=1614121717610#c926654014181005675
On the regular Netflix web app, you can use the My List poster gallery on the home page to access the detail pages, but for me it's only a partial list and it's still a pain.
it's not exclusive to my list. anything you browse on a smart tv or device will show the expiration date. it was funny to me when i last logged in that they splashed some movie at the top and right below in big letters it said last day to watch april 30. they do not suppress the data at the moment, which is good. maybe more average customers are benefiting from this uncharacteristic transparency.
Deletethat didn't last long. they are back to their old ways. now to see an expiration date, i do have to go to the detail page. i even tried on another device for the first time and didn't see the date listed anywhere.
DeleteTravis your pronoun is too vague. That? They? Can you be specific thanks! Are you just repeating the above or are you saying you can't even browse a smart TV / device posters anymore? Thanks!
Deletei thought it was clear from context.
Deletethe people working at netflix = they/them/theirs.
that = the transparency of posting the expiration dates below the title when browsing on certain versions of the netflix app without having to go to the details one by one. for me, this was repealed friday or saturday. does yours still work? does anyone's?
DeleteThe last time I checked was on Sunday, and some titles still had the last-day info when simply hovering over a movie (on the smart TV app), but some didn't unless you actually clicked on the movie, so it sounds like there was a roll-out, as there was when they took the "available until" info off of the manual My List. I wish I knew the ultimate goal for displaying expiration info, because the NF programmers don't seem to be capable of tinkering behind the curtain without letting us know what's going on until it's complete. Very frustrating and confusing.
one of the cardinal rules of "engineering" is not to go live with a change until the kinks are worked out, and for such a high-profile company and product...? it still boggles my mind no matter how many times they do it.
Deletei had a closer look at this last night on my device. i already noticed that the design element that changed the other day was the blurb beneath the shorter synopsis. they changed the font; it's at least bigger and brighter. it's possible they also increased the number of these blurbs because some i saw were pretty basic ("starring ___" or just a row of genre keywords in a still different font). whenever present, they preclude the recent addition of the expiration date in browse mode. i saw some movies and shows without the blurb. one had the expiration date. its shorter synopsis was the same as its main description in detail mode, which is fairly common.
i believe, just like the old problem in detail mode when they rolled out "Collections," the expiration date is the first to go when there isn't enough space to display.
For me, on Smart TV app now some expiration dates are visible in summary and others are not visible unless viewing details. What a pain!
DeleteTravis, I agree 110% with your statement about cardinal rule of working out bugs before rollout, and I have expressed this to Netflix many times. Boggles my mind as well that their typical approach is rollout "whatever" and then take forever, or never, fix the issues.
DeleteAmen, Barbara D.
Thanks for the Roku my list hover trick that helps some still stupid they took away the old way! Second time in past few years they did this.

ReplyDeleteMother's Day is on its way, so here's a bit of early motherly advice about the posting of duplicate titles:
If you are posting titles, try to spend a moment to check what's already here in comments and on the master list. My take is that most of you do check, most of the time - otherwise there would be a lot more duplicates than there are.
If you are reading titles in comments and see a duplicate, try to be understanding and kind. None of us is perfect. Everyone who posts titles is taking their valuable time to do a service for fellow readers. Let's keep the emphasis there, and realize that sometimes a contributor might be a bit rushed.
If the duplicate is a stand-alone title, I'll delete it. But it seems, most of the time, duplicates are mixed with new titles. If the posting is really egregious, I'll reply to the poster. But if it's just a mistake among valuable new info, let's overlook it. Practice forbearance and forgiveness. They are superpowers.
you don't have to read anything on the page. Ctrl-F is your friend. type the movie or even half the movie name in the field that pops up on your browser and it will tell you if it was already on the screen. It literally takes 10 to 20 seconds and you don't have to spend time looking through the entries of the entire page manually to see if your movie is there.

ReplyDeleteIt looks like the expiration notices for series only show up when you click the icon (the way they used to show), and not just when you scroll past the way movies do now. Are you guys finding this too?

DeleteHi PunkinheadDelux,
Yes, some of us are starting to find yet more changes to the new layout for expiration notices. See comments starting at:
http://expiringonnetflix.blogspot.com/2021/03/current-expiring-titles-for-netflix-usa.html?showComment=1621776284841#c8495217361243647109
6/1
ReplyDeleteThe Healer (2017)
This movie shows as "Available Until 06/01/2021" on my iPhone app, but there's no expiration notice at all on my laptop's browser version or my firetv app. (Ditto for Wish Man below. Available until 6/3 notice on iPhone app, but no other notices.) What on earth is going on with Netflix? Also, there are still no expiration notices on my laptop's manual my list.
DeleteAh, I scrolled up and see new comments regarding this issue. Not nice, Netflix! Not nice!
Delete
DeleteRe: The Healer (last day 6/1*) - comment above, and Wish Man (last day 6/3*) - comment below:
I don't see ANY expiration notice for either of these films anywhere on either the Netflix website or on my smart TV app. The only places that indicate they are leaving is uNoGS.com and the New on Netflix USA website (that has info supplied by uNoGS.com). uNoGS uses some kind of algorithm to extract this info from the programming underneath the Netflix site. If these expiration dates were a mistake, uNoGS might not have the new info yet.
Anonymous (or anyone), did you see a notice on the Netflix website or TV app? And is it no longer there?
I guess the safe thing to do for anyone who wants to see these films is to go ahead and watch them (see *note below), but I have doubts as to whether or not they are really expiring.
*Regarding the last days to watch, uNoGS.com indicates both of these films are "expiring" on the days given in the comments here, which would mean that the last days are actually one day prior, making The Healer 5/31 and Wish Man 6/2. If anyone saw notices on Netflix, did the last day to watch match what is shown in our comments?
Michelle, I agree with your "not nice" reprimand, even though it lacks all the expletives I would include. ;-)
DeleteP.S. The change in "last day to watch" as mentioned in the asterisked note in the comment directly above would seem to be supported by what Michele says her iphone app indicates. So, for anyone planning to watch these movies, I would go with last days 5/31 for The Healer, and 6/2 for Wish Man.
Hi there, OP poster. I got the info for both movies from New on Netflix, but when I checked the website (on desktop), there were no "last day to watch" notices. I figured the website uses some sort of algorithm to crawl the expiring movies (as you said), so figured I should just post anyway.

DeleteThanks for letting us know, Anonymous. I'm not sure what to think or which way to bet.
Everyone: Do what you think is best for you.

Re "Would You Rather", my iPhone app shows "Available Until 06/05/2021"
ReplyDelete
DeleteThanks Anonymous and Michelle for letting us know the status of yet another questionable title.
I'm starting to lean toward thinking these titles will expire, and the missing notices on the info pages are some kind of fluke due to the mucking around with expiration notices by the NF programmers. The good news is that the dates are all soon, so we'll know by next Saturday whether these 3 (so far) titles expired or not. That will help us know what to expect with any future titles in this category.
DeleteP.S. I forgot to say, I will be listing Would You Rather as last day 6/4.
My iPhone doesn't show the date, strange
DeleteI wonder if it's related to the app version. I don't tend to update mine much, and it looks like I have 12.37.0 (3128). Also, The Healer, which only my iPhone app said would expire on 5/31 does now look to be expired.
Delete
DeleteThanks Michelle. I updated the note on Wish Man to reflect that it's likely to expire. I hope this isn't going to affect a lot of titles, and that Netflix gets it fixed soon. Thanks for sharing the info on your iPhone app - that was very helpful.
Thanks also to you, Anonymous, for noting on your post for Would You Rather that it falls into this category - also very helpful.
My List (on the website) doesn't seem to be showing soon to expire stuff highlighted at all. I even added something Expiring today, and there was no note. Did they stop doing that? It shows if I look at the detail screen.
ReplyDeletethey stopped in february. let them know if you like it...

DeleteHi Billy,
If you go to the very top of this Comments section, the first two threads of comments are about this problem. It seems Netflix is changing how and where they give expiring information. They still don't seem to have it resolved, so we're all waiting to see how it ends up. I'm glad this blog can be a place where people can find answers to their questions about these kinds of things - it would be nice if Netflix had a page that kept us informed when they were changing formats.

ReplyDelete6/14
The Chase seasons 1 & 2 (2015)

ReplyDeleteLEGO Friends: The Power of Friendship - 2 Seasons (2016)
ReplyDeleteOne of the 6/30 titles that was yet to be added was Zathura (2005). This title has apparently been renewed, so I did not put it on the list.
6/18
ReplyDeleteBig Kill (2018)*
*No notice, from New on Netflix
7/9
Summer of '92 (2015)
7/11
Hyori's Bed & Breakfast - 1 season (2018)
DeleteNote for Big Kill: On the master list, I used 6/17 as the last day to watch, as that has been the pattern for these "no notice on Netflix" films. I figure it's better to go with the safe-for-sure date.
ReplyDeleteAll titles in comments above have now been added to the master list.
Titles in comments below will be added with the next full update.

To Leave Or Not To Leave
That Is The Question.?
DeleteRe: Grey's Anatomy - Netflix is currently streaming 16 seasons. The show has just finished up its 17th season, so it does kind of sound like NF is planning to get that one, as well, doesn't it? When? Who knows! For sure? Maybe, maybe not. You know - the typical answers to questions about what the heck Netflix is doing.
Re: the message, Check Back for Future Availability, in general - if you click on a title from our expired list (movie or series), this message shows up on an abbreviated info page. Does this mean everything will eventually come back? (See answers to questions for Netflix in previous paragraph.) Note that if you do a search for an expired show, this info page doesn't come up.
To leave or not to leave? That is a matter of disgust, indignation, & frustration vs. relatively cheap & easy entertainment. We each have to decide whether the good is worth putting up with the bad. Do remember, though, that cancelling one's subscription doesn't have to be forever. Ultimately, customers are the ones with the reins in their hands.
Thanks Carol.For That.
