Hi sherry, thanks for letting us know this disappointing news. I updated the list to clarify what happened. I hate it when Netflix goes rogue. I'm sorry you didn't get to watch the expired seasons, and I'll keep my fingers crossed that this show either returns to NF, or shows up somewhere else where you can watch.
Thanks sherry - it's hard for me to catch this problem, so your help is much appreciated. I looked at all the other series on the list, and it looks like this is the only one that has dropped seasons (other than Brain Games), at least for now.
Crossroads expired on February 1 - last day to watch was January 31. If you check the previous post, you'll see it there.
This blog is not affiliated with Netflix, so we have no say as far as their content. However, that particular title seems to come and go regularly, so it will probably pop back on eventually. To let Netflix know you'd like it to come back, go to: https://help.netflix.com/en/titlerequest?ui_action=title-suggestion-quicklinks
I'm sorry this keeps happening to you, sherry - how disappointing! But thanks for letting us know.
As an FYI for everyone: > I first checked the smart tv app, and the Alpha and Omega poster still came up with a search. When I clicked on it, it wouldn't play, but still showed an "Available until" date of March 1. Later, when I searched again, the poster no longer came up. > I also searched the Netflix site on my computer, and the poster came up, and showed the full description info, however, there was no play button. The availability info had not yet been added there (it was due to go on 2/22). > I checked My List, but it had fallen off there.
Honestly, I think making sure they show the correct expiration dates, and leaving shows & seasons up to play until those dates is a low priority for Netflix. There doesn't seem to be much care taken, and it feels irresponsible and inconsiderate as well as confusing. Wish I could be more optimistic about this problem getting fixed.
Oy! That does seem strange. I wonder if that was some kind of glitch, and that it will be added back when they discover it. Or was the add an error? More quality control problems. Thanks for the info.
Carol, I think the expired series The West is different from the Ken Burns documentary series. This other one is also named "The American West" and produced by Robert Redford. It aired on AMC last year, and Netflix seems to have a deal with them (Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Turn: Washington's Spies, etc.) so maybe it was a glitch and the series will be available again. As for Ken Burns: The West, it expired last year (I had to binge-watch to finish that one), but I haven't seen it back since then.
The Ken Burns series "The West" reappeared on Netflix together with several other Ken Burns documentaries on 2/23. The series lasted one day before being yanked. So two series titled "The West" have come and gone in the course of a week.
I looked on instantwatcher to see which "The West" had recently been added, and only the Ken Burns series showed up there, so that's the one I thought you meant, Wellesley72. Tonight, I checked New On Netflix USA, and only the Robert Redford series shows there. I'll put another note on the master list for that one, so the extent of Netflix's cuckoo-ness will be documented.
3/2 Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey (1991) Misfire (2014) Web Junkie (2013)
3/3 Entertainment (there are 2 on Instant with that title, from 2014 and 2015, don't know which one is leaving) I Dream of Wires (2014) The Nanny Diaries (2007) Seashore (2015)
3/4 Food Chains (2014) Jail Caesar (2012) Two Hundred Thousand Dirty (2012)
3/5 Pit Stop (2013) Rigor Mortis (2013)
3/6 Hansel vs. Gretel (2015)
3/7 Love At First Fight (2014) The Starving Games (2013)
3/14 Boy (2010) B for Boy (2013) My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend (2010) Sushi: The Global Catch (2012)
3/15 American Dreamz (2006)
3/22 Love Me (again 2 with that title, from 2013 and 2014) The Invincible Iron Man (2007)
3/24 All Stars (2 with that title, 2013 and 2014) The Perfect Wedding (2012) Pup (2013)
3/26 Dragonwolf (2013)
3/27 Erasing Hate (2011) The Kingdom of Dreams and Madness (2013)
3/28 6 Guns (2010) Detropia (2012) I Melt With You (2011) The Life and Crimes of Doris Payne (2013) Mega Shark vs. Mecha Shark (2014)
Thanks for putting the years on these, will g. I'm fairly sure they used to include them, and still do on the titles that will be coming to NF. Arrgghh!
As for the other two titles that have multiple films with the same name - arrgghh again! For Love Me (last day 3/22): the 2013 film was added to NF on 3/23/15, so I would bet money that's the one, but I'm wrong a lot, so I'm just going to make a note on the master list about that title, and that the correct movie will be officially added on 3/9, when we can check the app that gives 2 weeks notice.
For All Stars (last day 3/24): less willing to bet on this one; again I'll put a note on the list about it. Official add date will be 3/11.
Yes, 3 and 4 expired after last day 2/14, and just arrived back. If titles don't expire as scheduled, I put up a "Renewed" notice. To see what has expired, check the previous posts. For a specific title, use a Find search (ctrl F). Same-month expirations are stored on the previous month's post until the current month is over. Then it gets its own "Expired Titles" post. You can access prior posts from the yellow footer directly below this page, or from the sidebar, under "Expired Titles Archive."
I'm going to put a "Renewed as of" notice on Brain Games, because it has only been gone a couple weeks.
Anonymous also left a comment, which disappeared, about The Buccaneers (renewed) and North & South (moved to 3/30).
Sorry, Anonymous - I didn't see your comment until I checked my email, after I had already left the comment below. I place high value on all contributions, though, so didn't want yours to just go ignored. :-)
Thanks to all four of you for being so on top of what's going on with the titles on our list.
I'll put all of this on the master list when I update later in the morning, but for now, here is the status of all series scheduled for last day 2/28 (as of the time of this comment).
New last day: 3/26 Torchwood - 4 Seasons (2011)
New last day: 3/30 The House of Cards Trilogy (BBC) (1995) North & South - 4-Part Mini-Series (2004) The Office (U.K.) - 2 Series (2003)
No Expiration Date - Apparently Renewed The Buccaneers - 4-Part Mini-Series (1995) Copper - 2 Seasons (2013) Monarch of the Glen - 7 Series (2005) Outcasts - 1 Season (2011) Robin Hood - 3 Seasons (2009) Survivors - 2 Series (2010)
Expired Da Jammies - 1 Season (2015) Dragon Tales - 3 Seasons (2005) Keeping Up Appearances - 1 Season (1990) The Vicar of Dibley - 4 Seasons (2006) What Went Down - 1 Season (2015) Zoo Clues - 1 Season (2012)
Here are the rest of the series expiring on 4/1. As Kari mentioned all of the series listed in these comments, beginning with Death in Paradise are last day 3/31.
The following are from uNoGS.com, so I think this should be it. Sorry, I'm rushing, so I didn't put years or seasons on yet.
3/31 Barbie Life in the Dreamhouse The Buccaneers Firefly Girl Eat World The Jewel in the Crown Monarch of the Glen Monkey Thieves Robin Hood Roswell School for Little Vampires
Nica, thanks for clarifying this - I totally missed seeing the duplication.
Anonymous - and everyone - sorry I didn't get a note put on this one; I'll fix that today. Also, anytime you can't be sure which movie/show is expiring, click on the title on the master list (above), and the link will take you to the right one.
Hi, Unknown - I don't see any expiring info on Call the Midwife on the Netflix website. I'm assuming your last day date is 4/3, which would mean the Available until 4/4 notice would be up today on My List. But it's not. Can you please share your source of this info, and clarify the last day to watch. Thanks.
LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu and H2O: Just Add Water is back.

Me too but I am not surprised when things go away from NF anymore.

it played for me just fine last night. I only chose to watch that movies because I knew it was expiring.

DeleteNica, thanks for clarifying this - I totally missed seeing the duplication.
Anonymous - and everyone - sorry I didn't get a note put on this one; I'll fix that today. Also, anytime you can't be sure which movie/show is expiring, click on the title on the master list (above), and the link will take you to the right one.
NOOOOO!!! I'm only on season 4 of Buffy!!!!
ReplyDeleteSooooorry, but we gotta!!!!!!!
DeleteNF is becoming less worth the price every month.

At least it did not expire before Dec 25th of last year unlike some other holiday specials and movies.

ReplyDeleteCall The Midwife (2012)
DeleteHi, Unknown - I don't see any expiring info on Call the Midwife on the Netflix website. I'm assuming your last day date is 4/3, which would mean the Available until 4/4 notice would be up today on My List. But it's not. Can you please share your source of this info, and clarify the last day to watch. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThere is a new Current Expiring Titles post for March. Please leave comments on that post now. Comments left here might not get read. Thanks!
