Exit to Hell (2013) Last Hijack (2014) The New Black (2013) Nights with Théodore, aka Les nuits avec Théodore (2012) Not Another Happy Ending (2013) Salvo (2013) January 31 January 31 is split into three lists: The first list is Movies; the second is Series; the third is Shows for Kids.
January 31 - Movies Note: Movies with an asterisk after the title are Children & Family films. I didn't want to put them on both this and the Shows for Kids list, but I did want everyone who enjoys these films to be able to find them. Let me know if I missed any. (2013) American Girl: Isabelle Dances Into the Spotlight* (2014) American Milkshake (2013) An American Girl: Saige Paints the Sky* (2013) Note for the American Girl movies: There is a third American Girl movie (McKenna), but it is not currently scheduled to expire. Try searching by director: Jono Oliver. Also, this is a drama that has the same title as two other streaming shows: a children's movie and a Netflix original series. Neither of those is scheduled to expire. Jackass 2.5 (2007) Justice, My Foot! Scooby-Doo!: Mystery Incorporated - 2 Seasons (2012) Please submit all Comments to the Current Expiring Titles post. Thank you.
In addition to the three Girl With a Dragon Tattoo titles that are available through the 5th, my Netflix shows "The Dragon Tattoo Trilogy Extended Edition", which is, I think, the original Swedish TV miniseries (9 hours+!) From which the three movies were made. It does not have any "Available until..." date listed on it. Just wanted to see if anyone had any information that it might be leaving soon too. Much thanks for this great blog! Larrybs
At this time, there is nothing to indicate that the Dragon Tattoo trilogy is scheduled to expire. Although Netflix sometimes lets all related titles go at once (e.g., the Lethal Weapon series, and all 5 of the original Rocky films), that is not always the case. Often, only one of a series will expire, so there is nothing unusual in the 6-part extended version of the Dragon Tattoo series continuing to stream. If/when it does come up for expiration, we should get 30 days notice, because it is in multiple-parts format. Hope that helps.
Much thanks Carol for the quick response. Just thought I would check. I loved the Dragon Tattoo books and the original Swedish movies and TV series. Not so much the American remake. Larrybs
Hi Dallas, thanks for writing. I am copying your comment to our Complaints page, which has been set up for discussions such as you raise. Anyone who would like to respond, please do so on that page. It wouldn't surprise me if Netflix took that one off during the Christmas/New Year's peak streaming time, because it ate up so much bandwidth (if that's the right term).
Well, looks like we missed one. That's gonna happen every now and then. I doubt this title was posted on that site a month ago, though. That's when the post was first put up, but titles are added regularly through updates to the post, so Bald Mountain could have been added in the last week or so. Thanks for the info, NF USA: Expiring.
Carol, thanks for letting me know that the post was continually updated - I suspected as much but didn't know how to tell for sure. And missing one is perfect versus the other sites that miss dozens and dozens... :)
if you look here, you can see it wasn't posted a month ago: http://wayback.archive.org/web/20161220154846/http://www.whats-on-netflix.com/leaving-soon/titles-leaving-netflix-in-january-2017/
it wouldn't surprise me if they added it to the list after it was gone.
This is a note for martial arts fans. There isn't a good place to put it on the list. All or most of the martial arts movies on the 1/31 list are from the Shaw Brothers Film Library, owned by Celestial Pictures. However, there are other similar movies from that collection that are also streaming, but are NOT expiring. I've checked several, and haven't found any additional expiring titles. If there are any more, they'll show up on uNoGS.com on the 25th. I just didn't want anyone to worry that everything was leaving.
Just in case anyone's wondering where the press release titles are, they were published 2 days ago and there aren't any we don't have already, which has never happened before.
Published where? Half the people I speak to at Netflix claim there's a press release sent out each month and the other half claim there's no such thing. It's annoying to have to visit multiple websites every day in the hopes of catching every movie that's set to expire.
Where, specifically, did you see it? I just searched Huffington Post and couldn't find it. When I google "coming to Netflix February 2017," nothing shows up. The only thing I could find about titles leaving is for Netflix UK.
I Google "leaving Netflix February 2017" rather than "coming to." Right at the top is the site I checked, inquisitr.com. There are a couple of others further down, but the major sites like Variety and Hollywood Reporter that usually post it haven't yet.
The press release normally has what is coming to streaming as well, which is what I am looking for (hence why I google "coming to Netflix"). That inquisitr is the only site that pops up makes me wonder if that is the official press release.
There is this site (link below) that I visit sometimes to find out what's coming and going. Unfortunately it includes only a fraction of the movies that are soon to be available to stream. Every day when I browse Netflix's new arrivals section, I see way more stuff that's new than is included on the site below which has multiple days completely missing even though stuff is being added every day. Even big name movies aren't always listed.
http://www.whats-on-netflix.com/coming-soon/
Oddly, Netflix's own press release website doesn't have a press release for movies that are coming or going. Weird.
All dates last date. Everything from the press release. I'm posting this from my phone and can't look up the years. Sorry.

Thank you Nica, and now I'm thoroughly confused. Yes, today the major outlets published the press release, and though there's some overlap it's a different list than the one I was going by yesterday from here:
As I said before, that inquisitr list also appeared on a couple of other (obscure) sites, so I don't know what's going on. Glad you kept looking even though I mistakenly said there were no new titles.
Nica - thanks for finding these. No problem about the years. I think Netflix used to include them, but they seem to have gone a little off the trolley.
will g - don't worry about the mix-up. The inquisitr site really made it sound like the press release. Funny thing is, I think they got the titles from whats-on-netflix.com, who I'm pretty sure got them from none other than. . . us! I must confess to being peeved that they don't credit their sources.
I think inquisitr found a list on a Netflix fan site (I saw a link to Netflix Update, who probably got their titles from someone else), thought it was the official site, and then listed what they had. A few things made me question if it was the real one. 1.) There was nothing listed for coming to Netflix. That's always in the press release, though some sites only list what's leaving, others list it as one article, and others have two separate articles. 2.) It listed Korean shows. Kind of a silly thing, but I've noticed that the Netflix press releases don't usually have those listed. That may change, though, since they're going to make their own Korean original. 3.) It was put out over the weekend; the press release has always been a mid-week deal.
Good detective work, Nica! Thanks again. It wasn't Netflix Update - they don't have any movies for 1/31. If there's another site that lists movies that are more than a week out (except for the ones on the press release), I'd love to know where they're getting their info.
The press release includes the title, "Jack Frost," for last day 2/14. There is nothing currently streaming on Netflix with that title. There's Frosty the Snowman, but I don't want to second-guess what Netflix was thinking. We'll know on Feb. 8 everything that's leaving on the 14th - I'll be curious to find out what the heck they mean. Or, that title might have got on the list by accident. In any case, it will not be put on OUR list now, so wanted you to know why.
Thanks for the link, Carol. I've never seen that site before. I see a couple of good movies on there that are coming to streaming and which I've been looking for (and are unavailable on DVD so far). Cool.
If this isn't supposed to be posted here, I apologize.....I just noticed that some titles that were in my playlist expired without any notice at all:
Gonzo (07) Welcome to Me (14) Zipper (15) Love (15) Straight A's (13) Killing Season (13) As I Lay Dying (13) The Hunt (12) Touchy Feely (13) The Attack (12)
Anonymous - These titles were all on our list, but most of them were part of the last minute December 30 purge. (All the dates I refer to were last days to watch.) “Available until” dates didn’t show up on our My Lists until the afternoon of December 29th, so we only got a day and a half notice. Another three of your titles expired earlier this month, and should have been on the list for at least a week. You can see all these titles on the previous month’s post.
The only one that’s a bit of a mystery is Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson (07). That one expired last January 4 (2016). I would have thought you would have missed it sooner :- ), so maybe it came back, and then did expire without notice.
Here are the dates for the ones that expired within the last 30 days:
December 30 As I Lay Dying (13) Killing Season (13) Love (15) Straight A's (13) Welcome to Me (14) Zipper (15)
The expiration dates for these BBC series have all disappeared, so I'm assuming they have been renewed:
The Buccaneers - 1 Season (1995) Copper - 2 Seasons (2013) The House of Cards Trilogy (BBC) (1995) Monarch of the Glen - 7 Series (2005) North & South - 1 Season (2004) The Office (U.K.) - 2 Series (2003) Outcasts - 1 Season (2011) Robin Hood - 3 Seasons (2009) Survivors - 2 Series (2010) Torchwood - 4 Seasons (2011) The Vicar of Dibley - 4 Seasons (2006)
Keeping Up Appearances - 1 Season (1990) still shows up as expiring on 1/31, but I'm guessing that one has been renewed as well and Netflix will update accordingly.
Everyone: It appears that all the BBC shows formerly marked for expiration on 2/1 (last day 1/31) have been renewed. You will see on your My Lists that the Available until dates for these shows are now gone. A few comments above, Anonymous has listed them all out.
Renewals For last day 1/31 (today!), the following kids' programs no longer show an expiration date:
Bratz: Babyz: The Movie (2005) Bratz: Super Babyz (2007)
Adventures in Lalaloopsy Land (2012) Lalaloopsy Babies : First Steps (2014) Lalaloopsy Girls: Welcome to L.A.L.A. Prep School (2014) Lala-Oopsies: A Sew Magical Tale (2013)
LeapFrog: Numberland (2011) LeapFrog: Phonics Farm (2011) LeapFrog: The Amazing Alphabet Amusement Park (2010)
Please note that the other titles in these groups still ARE scheduled to expire.

Thank you Nica, and now I'm thoroughly confused. Yes, today the major outlets published the press release, and though there's some overlap it's a different list than the one I was going by yesterday from here:
Deletehttp://www.inquisitr.com/3907559/netflix-february-2017-complete-list-of-titles-leaving-netflix-in-february/
As I said before, that inquisitr list also appeared on a couple of other (obscure) sites, so I don't know what's going on. Glad you kept looking even though I mistakenly said there were no new titles.
For anyone who wants to check out what's coming to streaming in February, here's one of the sites that has the press release:
Deletehttp://www.wbtv.com/story/34332052/whats-coming-and-going-on-netflix-for-february
DeleteNica - thanks for finding these.

DeleteGood detective work, Nica! Thanks again. It wasn't Netflix Update - they don't have any movies for 1/31. If there's another site that lists movies that are more than a week out (except for the ones on the press release), I'd love to know where they're getting their info.
Please Note:
ReplyDeleteThe press release includes the title, "Jack Frost," for last day 2/14.
Cool.
ReplyDeletewow it seems like this is the first month where I have nothing expiring on the 31st.
ReplyDeleteIf this isn't supposed to be posted here, I apologize.....I just noticed that some titles that were in my playlist expired without any notice at all:
ReplyDeleteGonzo (07)
Welcome to Me (14)
Zipper (15)
Love (15)
Straight A's (13)
Killing Season (13)
As I Lay Dying (13)
The Hunt (12)
Touchy Feely (13)
The Attack (12)
DeleteAnonymous - These titles were all on our list, but most of them were part of the last minute December 30 purge.
December 30
As I Lay Dying (13)
Killing Season (13)
Love (15)
Straight A's (13)
Welcome to Me (14)
Zipper (15)
January 8
The Hunt (12)
Touchy Feely (13)
January 10
The Attack (12)
The expiration dates for these BBC series have all disappeared, so I'm assuming they have been renewed:
ReplyDeleteThe Buccaneers - 1 Season (1995)
Copper - 2 Seasons (2013)
The House of Cards Trilogy (BBC) (1995)

The Office (U.K.) - 2 Series (2003)
Outcasts - 1 Season (2011)
Robin Hood - 3 Seasons (2009)
Survivors - 2 Series (2010)
Torchwood - 4 Seasons (2011)
The Vicar of Dibley - 4 Seasons (2006)
Keeping Up Appearances - 1 Season (1990) still shows up as expiring on 1/31, but I'm guessing that one has been renewed as well and Netflix will update accordingly.
DeleteThanks for this good news, Anonymous! Tomorrow's update will reflect these renewals.
DeleteYour guess was correct, Anonymous - Keeping Up Appearances now shows as being renewed.

I will take off the renewed messages, and relocate the BBC shows under a February 28 last day to watch. Thanks Nica and Anonymous.
