There is a new post for the Current Expiring Titles (click on Home, above). Please submit all relevant comments to that post. This page is now the archive for July/August 2020 expired titles, and the name of this page has been changed to reflect that. This page will no longer be updated.
The Hater was just added on 7/10, so either it was added in error and now corrected, or taken off in error and (hopefully) will be added back.
Normally, I like to update the list with expired-without-notice titles, but lately, there's been a number of these kinds of mess-ups, and I can't keep up with it all. I think with this kind of situation, I'll just leave it in comments, and not delete the comment so there will be a record of it.
Here is the Netflix page for The Hater: https://www.netflix.com/title/81270667 And the New on Netflix USA info page: https://usa.newonnetflix.info/info/81270667
Thanks Anonymous for keeping us up-to-date with Netflix's latest D'oh!
The Hater was originally supposed to stream on July 29 according to the official list. Then for some reason, we got to see it July 10 for maybe a day or so until Netflix decided to take it down again. The new date is now the same as the old date.
I just wonder who in Netflix is going to be chastised or worse over this latest slip.
This one was added on May 1, 2019, so not sure what happened. Netflix page: https://www.netflix.com/title/81094083 New on Netflix USA page: https://usa.newonnetflix.info/info/81094083

Is nothing expiring at the end of the month except for what was in the press release? usually I would notice at least a few things expiring that were expiring on my list but the only 7/31 movies that is currently expiring on my list is salt which was in the press release. i'm surprised that more things aren't expiring as I thought today would have been the day for them to pop up as the noticed appear at least 2 weeks before they expire.
yes i did and i didn't see much else posted here either and usually i see a bunch of things posted for the end of the month but i guess there isn't anything else expiring unless something shows up a few days before the end of the month when expiration appear on the website from a computer.
anything showing up in the last week should already show on your device that gives 14 days, so i would say that any expiration notice that ends up being new is something netflix is sneaking in there as they are increasingly doing. there's no way to predict that, but if you already checked your list then you can feel confident about having time if there is some sort of notice later.
Last-day July 31 stats: > June 24: Netflix released 31 titles on their press release > July 2: Our readers found 6 series to add > July 18: Our readers found 11 more titles on the two-week apps (5 already added, the other 6 will be added today).
That makes a total of 48 titles we have so far. I guarantee there will be more - the average number of month-end titles is 60-75, but we frequently have close to a hundred, sometimes more, but almost never fewer than 50.
The reason there aren't as many titles in comments as there have been in the past is because Netflix has started doing a better job of giving us lots of titles in the previous month. I have to give them kudos for finally getting that piece right.
We should have everything for month-end by the 25th or 26th, but likely now have all - or almost all - of the titles most people will be interested in. The titles that tend to come in last are usually comprised mostly of lesser-known documentaries and foreign films, and other fairly obscure movies.
So - do we have everything that's going to expire at month-end? No. Is it likely you have all the titles you would be interested in watching? I'd say there's a good chance of that.
I mostly care about the bigger stuff and I try to watch everything in my list before it expires but sometimes I let things expire if I don't feel like watching them. I don't want something expiring from my list that I didn't know about.
I love when you put the show ahead of time that are canceled. I would live that the longer season of a tv show being to give enough time to watch. I alway end not finishing the season of those longer show
You're right, Sharon. Even though we usually get a month's notice for TV shows, it's not always enough. I would love to get longer notice, too. Thanks for writing.
Why is Netflix only bringing foreign tv series. What I love about Netflix was that you can binge on your favorite tv that you necessarily didn’t get to watch on the regular channel
Hi Sharon, I have placed your comment and my response to it on our Discussions & Ideas page at: https://expiringonnetflix.blogspot.com/p/august-2020-this-page-is-open-forum-and.html
You can also find links in several places on this main page: in the sidebar, in the footer, and just before comments begin, where it says Open Comments - Go to Discussions & Ideas page.
We like to keep the comments on this main page focused on what's going to expire and when. More general comments, such as yours, work better on the Discussions page, so we can comment back and forth without getting in the way of new info about expiring titles. Thanks - I always enjoy hearing what readers are thinking about.
This Disney film does not yet show an "available until" notice on Netflix, even on the 2-week app. The source of its September 4 last day is that it falls into the category of the Disney-Netflix contract that gives certain films 18 months of streaming. (Elekata reported about this on our Discussions page on November 12, 2019 - see Discussions Archive in the sidebar.)
Normally, I don't like to put anything on our list that hasn't been verified directly by Netflix, but the films that fall into this category have been consistently accurate, so I'm going to put it on the list with a note. Hopefully, we'll see it on the press release, which should be out sometime in the next couple of weeks.
Btw, there are only 2 more films in this category: Ralph Breaks the Internet - last day December 10 Mary Poppins Returns - last day January 8, 2021
I have Disney Plus. I checked the pages for each movie, and the dates they list as coming to Disney Plus are: 9/11 for Christopher Robin 12/11 for Ralph Breaks the Internet 1/15/21 for Mary Poppins Returns
Thanks for checking this, Nica. Interesting that 2 of the movie dates don't match the last-day dates we calculated from the Netflix added dates. Since we now have Netflix confirmation (from the press release) for last-day 9/4 for Christopher Robin, I'm going to assume it's wise to not count on Mary Poppins Returns staying past Jan. 8.
I'll be curious to see if there really is a delay between when Christopher Robin and Mary Poppins Returns leave Netflix, and when they become available on Disney Plus.
Other renewed titles includes Four Sisters and a Wedding, My Exs and Whys, Beauty and the Besties and It Takes a Man and Woman. (mostly these titles owned by ABS-CBN, which has its television and radio stations ceased with denied franchise)

Exceptions: The following 2 titles in comments above were not added to the master list: Bride for Rent was scheduled for last day 8/25, but was renewed before the update, so no need to have it on our list. Menace II Society was on the Netflix press release as expiring at the end of September, however, it is not currently streaming. I'll keep an eye on it to see if it is added. If it is, then I'll put it on the list. Otherwise, I think we can assume it was on the press release in error.
And in a stunning twist, Menace II Society has been announced to start streaming on September 1. Its inclusion on the press release may well have not been a mistake.
Thanks Brian - good work! Wonder why they didn't put it on the press release "coming to" section. Maybe they wanted to announce it separately because of the current focus on Black Lives Matter? I'm going to wait until the film is actually streaming, and then I'll put it on the list.
It got announced on Strong Black Lead, a Netflix affiliated Twitter account, along with Set It Off. So I feel fairly confident it will go on September 1.

Hi! Starting on titles listed 8/30 and through at least 9/14, I did a sampling from each entry and was not able to find any of the titles as currently available. The search results were always "explore titles related to:" but not the actual title. I feel like I am in some kind of time warp! I haven't used my laptop or netfilx in a couple of months, but i don't think that should matter.
Sorry I shouldn't have been so dismissive of your dilemma. For some reason the search function on the site isn't working for you. But as I said you can find all the titles by clicking on them in Carol's list.
Sorry again! I realize not all our titles are in Carol's list yet. I'd give Netflix a call about your search malfunction, they might be able to help you fix it.

DeleteCarol - know that you are 100000000% appreciated no matter when the updated home page updates come.
