ReplyDeleteThis expiring title is at the bottom of portion of My List that is visible. Can someone direct me to the Netflix page/link where I can re-order my list? I want to put the important titles to me on top so I can see any expiration dates. I am sure there are ones that I cannot see.
the only way to reorder your list so the expiring ones are on top is to know which ones are expiring. Delete off your list then add again and they will show at top of your list.
DeleteNo, I meant I want to re-order the list so that the most important shows to me are at the top. Not necessarily the ones that are expiring. Obviously, Netflix has not intention of fixing this problem. I guess I will just delete everything from "My List" except for the 48 I most care about. I certainly won't include any Netflix Originals in my shorter list.
Deletedon't forget to call netflix and tell them that
DeleteEd, to move a title to the top use the "Move to top" button visible on the right when you hover over a title. You can also manually drag titles up or down on the list by clicking on the bar on the extreme right.
DeleteNo Netflix page exists where you can reorder your entire list. If the titles you want at the top of your My List are not among the 48 shown, the only way to get those preferred titles to the top is:
Delete1) From a computer on Netflix web page, search on the title.
2) In the movie details screen, remove the title and then add it again. Alternatively, you can hover over the movie poster and remove/add from there.
3) Repeat for each of your 48 top title choices.
4) Your 48 top should all show in your truncated My List.
5) Reorder your titles in My List, as usual, while in "Manual Order" mode.
6) Success?
Important to follow this process on a computer using Netflix website, not an app or other device. All or most other methods add new titles to the bottom of My List, not the top.
Hope these steps are clear, because my brain is not-so-much today. LOL

DeleteClash Royale Rules Est. . . I have deleted your comment because, once again, you have submitted a title that is NOT expiring from the United States Netflix catalog (although it is expiring in several other countries). Miss Representation expired last August, then returned in October, so it will probably be here for awhile.
If you cannot tell whether or not a title is expiring in the U.S., please do one of the following:
1. Indicate in your comment that you are not sure if your title is expiring in the U.S., e.g., "Possible expiring title: please double check for U.S."
2. Simply refrain from submitting titles in the future. It is unfair to your fellow readers to dispense information that is not correct for them. The vast majority of our readers are in the U.S. Our list is exclusively comprised of titles expiring in the U.S. We do not include any titles that are expiring only outside of the U.S. Please help us to keep our information accurate. Thank you.
Check the search to Miss Reprosensactional in Netflix.
Delete
DeleteGo to the following url: http://unogs.com/video/?v=70167128 -- Scroll down.
You will see that Miss Representation is currently streaming in 20 countries, and is expiring in ALL BUT THREE countries: Canada, Hungary, and United States.
On this blog, we only list movies that ARE expiring in the U.S. Please send me the url you are using to determine that Miss Representation is expiring from Netflix in the United States.
If all they are only looking in Netflix and seeing it expire then there are only 2 explanations where they would see that.
Delete1) They are in another country.
2) They are using VPN and have it set to another country. Netflix then shows its site for that country not for the country of the users account.

DeleteThe only expiration dates you will find on this page are for the United States. This site is not part of the Netflix Corporation. We are simply Netflix USA subscribers who share expiration info we find on our USA Netflix site and any USA Netflix apps we might have.
We welcome all readers from all countries, but the information here might not apply for your country. The best site I know of that has expiration information for other countries is unogs.com. It doesn't have all countries, but it has quite a few.
Our site has no plans to include information for countries other than USA. This site is not a business, and generates no income. We are already doing as much as we can, and have no resources to branch out with information for other countries. I wish we could, but we simply cannot. Thanks for your interest.
Welp, so much for them fixing the My List truncation problem. As of this morning, Manual Ordering is gone. Only the poster format remains. And My List is now called "Watchlist."
ReplyDeleteI have My List in Manual Order right now. Still only the first 48 show however. But it's still there. Along with Netflix Suggests if I choose to use it. Maybe yours was suffering a momentary glitch? Or maybe your account is ahead of mine? Does anyone else care to try?
DeleteThey must be rolling it out. I'm on the East Coast, so guess we're first (unless you're here too, then it's random). Haven't had a chance to call them yet.
DeleteI think eveyone should call and demand a discount in their service cost for losing a valuable feature that they no longer have.
Delete
DeleteOh, man, not good news to wake up to. I'm on the West Coast, and still have the 48-title My List. Gonna work on the update while I can still grab the links from it.
I'm East Coast as well. NY. So far I still have the choice between Netflix Suggests and Manual Order.
DeleteI am on record on in the complaint thread saying that they'd quietly do this however. Oh well. I enjoyed the ability to alphabeticalize while I could.
Just saw this ona Reddit post. Just as I feared, Netflix is taking the last bit of control we had so they can hide how much content is leaving.
Deleteechawkes• Mar 11, 2018, 5:20 PM
I'm in a chat session with "Norlan" from Netflix support right now. He says,
Thank you Eric. We are aware of a recent issue where "My list" section may not show all of your selected titles on some device. That's a working progress issue still. Now, whenever any title is about to expire we will let know thru a notification on your Netflix home page.
No change yet to MyList here in NC. MyList is the truncated list of 48 titles when I access it through the webpage using my desktop Mac. When I access the webpage using my iPad, I get the full list displayed as posters. The iPad NetFlix app, my old Vizio app, and the Roku app, all still show the full list displayed as posters.
DeleteOK, finally spoke to customer service and it turns out I raised a false alarm, sorry. Apparently it's just a test, and unbeknownst to me there is a setting on the Account page for "test participation," which I had set to "On." I turned it off, and it went back to the old My List format.
DeleteShe couldn't really give me any more information than that. I imagine if they're testing it, this could be an upcoming change for everyone, but not right now. Of course she also couldn't give me any information on the truncation issue. Again, sorry for much ado about nothing.
I wonder about this testing process. If NF turns off manual ordering as a test and no one complains, because those of us who use manual ordering have turned off test participation, they’ll say “ no one is complaining, so we can end manual ordering.” Anyone who is willing to call CS and complain (I’m not) when NF tests some stupid idea, serves a useful purpose by staying in test participation.
DeleteCarol, since this all really belonged on the Discussion page, and it turned out to be a non-issue for now, you might want to just delete the whole thing.

DeleteI'm going to let this thread stand, because I think it's helpful to know what Netflix is thinking about. I share CanandaiguaNY's concern, and hope they're only experimenting with another option to the manual My List, not a doing-away-with. Can't help but wonder if this test is related to the truncation issue. Doesn't seem like the best use of their time/expertise, in any case.
I'm sorry you had to be alarmed by this, will g. Would have been nice if they had sent you an email with a heads-up. But I'm kind of glad to know what's going on in their minds, so thanks for being a guinea pig, albeit an unintentional one.

Everything Expiring at Month-End - A Word of Caution
ReplyDeleteFor will g, seth mishne, and everyone else: We have to be really careful about saying that we have *everything* expiring on a particular date. As of this writing, we still don't have everything for the "last day 4/30" list. For example, Total Siyapaa (2014) will also be going on that list a little later today.
Many of the sites that publish the press release use the hyperbolic phrase "everything leaving and coming to Netflix in [month/year]." How I wish that were true! This blog would be redundant and unnecessary, and I could spend a lot more time actually watching movies. As an example of how untrue that "everything" statement is, the most recent press release lists 13 titles as expiring on May 1 (our last day 4/30). Even before the titles most recently added in comments, we had 43 titles for that day. The press release is always a welcome addition to what's leaving, but far from everything.
My gauge for everything is uNoGS.com (which is where I found Total Siyapaa), but even they don't have the much desired EVERYTHING, e.g., they are not able to catch partial seasons expiring from a series, and sometimes they just miss something. I will be going through their list in just a bit, and let you know anything we still don't have. Hang in there.
Yes I was very imprecise in the way I answered Seth, I only meant that the press release didn't add any new 4/30 titles, not that "nothing else" is expiring. And it turns out I was even missing a few new 4/30 titles from the press release.
DeleteRequiem for the Amercan Dream has returned to Netflix just now!

DeleteThanks - it's really hard for me to find renewals with the truncated list, so I appreciate this info. I have noted it on the archived post.
Netflix pulled Requiem for the American Dream from streaming, *again.* There was no available until / expiration date on it for the two days it appeared to be renewed. What a disappointment!
