There is a new post for the Current Expiring Titles (click on Home, above). Please submit all relevant comments to that post. This page is now the archive for March 2018 expired titles, and the name of this page has been changed to reflect that. This page will no longer be updated.

However, there is no availability notice on My List because new episodes are planned as a replacement, on or before the expiration date. It's a flaw in Netflix's programming, one of many. Old Note: There is also a 2017 Netflix original MST3K: The Return. That one is not expiring. Narcos Y Perros (2001) Paranormal Whacktivity (2013) Pretty Ugly People (2009) Resistance (2014) The Seventh Dwarf (2014) Space Racers - 1 Season (2014) Tom Papa Live in New York City (2011) Tomorrow's Cantabile - 1 Season (2014) Tricked, aka Tricked: The Documentary (2013) Renewed Note for Tricked: There are two movies with this title. Considering we are only 8 days away from the alleged expiration date, shouldn't notices be appearing for either the movie or the series Glitch? Neither shows a notice on my device...
Hi Unknown, I'm afraid your comment not only disappeared from the blog, it ended up in my email spam folder, so I didn't see it until now. :-(
You will see the notice for Glitch - the movie - on Sunday, March 4. (I just checked the app on my smart TV, and the notice is still up.) The series is not expiring. For movies, whatever the last day to watch is, subtract 6 from that date, and that's when the "available until" notice will show up on the Netflix site My List.
Hi again, Unknown - just want to clarify that your comment did NOT disappear, but my brain seems to be doing a disappearing act. I didn't look in the right place for your comment, so I missed it. My apologies.
They're apparently taking the episodes in the collection out and replacing them with different ones, just a heads-up if you want to watch the ones there now.
Thanks so much for catching this, chris b. I keep forgetting about this possibility when availability dates disappear. That's why I'm so grateful for everyone out there keeping an eye on things. Whew - saved again. :-)
even though netflix is rather dubiously announcing it as "season 2" right now, some of the previous episodes remain. i wonder why they didn't just keep the previous set and add a new one as collection 2, calling it what it is.
Is anyone else unable to view their full "My List"? Using a desktop computer (Windows 10) and despite attempting with multiple browsers, I'm only seeing the first 48 titles when I click "My List" or "Explore All" - a few more show when i scroll through the horizontal row on the Home screen, but still not all of my list... Is there a solution to this?
I'm having the same trouble viewing MyList on my portable computer. I can only see 48 titles today on the MyList webpage [and 100 titles in the horizontal scroll on the Home page, which is normal]. I called Netflix customer service who said they are aware of the problem and are working now to fix it. They said you should be able to see the full MyList on your other devices. That's assuming you have any.
Check the Discussions & Ideas page where there's been an on-going discussion about the slow loading of the MyList webpage for the past week.
Just checked this; My List loaded right away, but just the first 48 titles, as others have said. On my smart TV, all the My List titles are there, so that's a comfort. Hopefully, everything will be fixed by tomorrow, including the slow loading problem.
Still only 48 titles showing in My List this morning when in Manual Order. Very annoying as I can't see anything that might be expiring and I can't put new titles in alphabetical order like the rest of My List.
Still not fixed. I count on viewing My List thru my Laptop as it is the quickest and easiest way to see if a title is expiring. My List on Roku and on my smart phone do not have this feature.
https://www.netflix.com/browse/my-list only shows the first 48 of my 458 movies in my Netflix queue since 3/7/18 at 6 PM. This means only 48 of my 458 movies will show expirations. Am I alone or do all Netflix users experience this?
You are not alone. It has done the same thing for me as well. I have talked to Netflix twice about this and they are trying to fix it as soon as they can but it is frustrating. I thought it was my end at first but Netflix confirmed a lot of people are having this issue. I have 500 movies or so I believe in my list...so sometimes I am not sure what to watch so I just wait for it to expire and that motivates me to watch it so it is frustrating that it wasn't showing my whole list just a few like you..maybe 48 or so but I am glad I found this site. This helps so much for now until it gets fixed.
In my list I can't see numbers next to the movies, Netflix removed that feature some time ago. How other people know how many movies have on their lists? Thank you.
Hi Anna, thanks for writing. I think the most common way people use to keep track of how many titles are on their list(s) is to keep a manual version of their list - in Excel, MSWord, or some other kind of document. This serves other purposes, as well.
Everyone: Because this inquiry might have more responses, I'm going to copy Anna's comment and this one to the Discussions & Ideas page: http://expiringonnetflix.blogspot.com/p/blog-page_45.html Please put all further responses on that page. Thanks!
Craig Ferguson:I’m Here to Help (2013) is shown as a Netflix original. Is 5 years the life span of a Netflix original stand-up comedy? I think this is just the second or third Netflix Original that I have seen Netflix remove.
They generally own the rights forever when they paid for the production (rather than just acquisitions released under the "Originals" label in various countries), but weren't too good at ensuring that in the early years. If you see an original leaving, it would be because they didn't sign up for the rights in perpetuity.
it's funny to me that netflix spends so lavishly on original content (to the detriment of everything else) only for it to be not safe from expiration. by my count, this is the third special or documentary to go, and three series with netflix exclusive seasons have been up for expiration (if not expired in other countries), including the one that was announced for this month.
Hi Janelle, thanks for joining the ranks of contributors. It's always good to see a new name in the comments.
I double check every title that everyone contributes (I quadruple check my own). I found the following for the titles you sent in, above: 1) RE: The Lady in the Car with Glasses and a Gun: I don't see an expiration notice for this title. Could you have been looking at another title, perhaps? 2) RE: Life Partner: There are 2 movies with almost the same title. Life Partner (2009) does not show an expiration date. However, Life Partners (2014) DOES show as last day 4/1. That's a good example of why we like to show the year with the title.
Please check these titles again, and let us know if there is a discrepancy with what I found. Thanks.
Expired without notice*: Being Mary Jane: The Movie
*In fact, a few years ago, Netflix added this and the series, labeling the latter Being Mary Jane: The Series, which is still what it's called, an artifact of what I'm about to explain. The "movie" was the pilot episode. The second episode of the series aired some time later. Because the second episode picks up where the "movie" left off, and customers were complaining in the reviews about not knowing that before starting the show, Netflix actually combined the two and made the "movie" episode 1 of season 1 and removed the separate listing of the now redundant Being Mary Jane: The Movie. Netflix recently added a new season of the show, and while checking I noticed that the pilot episode had dropped off, with Being Mary Jane: The Movie still not separately listed, so viewers have no way to stream it, as has been commented on in the recent reviews. I just called and spoke to Netflix supervisor Trenton, explaining this all carefully to him - twice. Despite readily acknowledging he is not familiar with this show, he insisted Netflix lost the license to this episode. He claimed he would submit my comments anyway. I'm confident this is a technical error resulting from artificially combining the previously separate titles and not following up on it when adding new episodes, but the end result is the TV movie pilot is gone. If you view the episode list for season 1, it now starts at episode 2.
Hi Anonymous, I'm not sure if this is the same as what you were looking for, but the series, Black Books, expired at the end of October last year. It is listed in the archive for that month.
The movie Black Book hasn't been available to stream on Netflix for a couple of years. I know because I wanted to watch that one but regrettably never got around to it due to how many movies in My List were expiring that month.
Thanks, Luke. I looked all through our archives, and couldn't find it, so it must have expired before October 2015. It's available to stream on Amazon for $3.99 (not available on Prime).
I was wrong about the couple of years. According to New On Netflix, Black Book arrived on Netflix on November 6 2016 and then expired on January 13 2017. No wonder I never got around to watching it. It was only available to stream for a total of two months.
I don't see Muppets from Space streaming, only on DVD. Do you have a url for the streaming site? Or can you tell us where you found the info that it is expiring? Thanks.
Oh, that explains it - Thanks. According to uNoGS, Muppets from Space expires in Singapore and Hong Kong on 3/31. It is also streaming in France, Germany, and India, but not in the U.S. Our site only lists those titles that are streaming - and expiring - in the U.S.
I'm happy to see that we have some new contributors - thanks to all of you! Please take a few moments to review our submission guidelines at: http://expiringonnetflix.blogspot.com/p/guidelines-for-submitting-new-titles-to.html
It isn't necessary to include the url of the streaming title, but it's okay to do so if there's only 1 or 2 titles on your list. I asked for a url in a previous comment, but that was because I couldn't find the title on Netflix.
If you have any questions about our guidelines, please feel free to ask.
4/1 Jackrabbit (2015) Sinbad: The Fifth Voyage (2014)
4/24 Kevin from Work - 1 Season (2015)
Btw, uNoGS has been updating much earlier in the day than they were, so we're getting the expiring titles we would see on our My Lists before noon on the same day. Thanks uNoGS!
Just a quick couple of questions, I am sure most of you know this but I do not...
Why do so many movies expire? Especially so many good ones like Pursuit of Happiness and Shawshank Redemption...I am sure these movies get watched on a daily basis all over the country and well worth it for Netflix to keep them.
I know, some of these titles have ran out their contract with Netflix and they couldn't come to terms on renewing them...but that really sucks bad. When they leave, where to they go?
Hi Terry, I'm going to copy your comment to our Discussions & Ideas page. Everyone: if you would like to comment on this topic, please do so on that page: http://expiringonnetflix.blogspot.com/p/blog-page_45.html
Horseland is expiring in several European countries, but not in the U.S.
Clash Royale. . . Please make sure that any titles you submit are expiring in the U.S. Our readers count on the information in comments, and there's enough to keep track of without having info that isn't relevant for U.S. customers. I know we have some international readers, but we're just not able to handle titles that are expiring in other countries. The website unogs.com does a good job of that. Thanks.
All titles above this comment have been added to the master list.

ReplyDeleteBeing Mary Jane: The Movie
DeleteThanks for the excellent explanation, Travis. Will Netflix never run out of new ways to confound us???
Black Book (2006) has expired I think. It doesn't show up in search anymore.
ReplyDelete
DeleteHi Anonymous, I'm not sure if this is the same as what you were looking for, but the series, Black Books, expired at the end of October last year. It is listed in the archive for that month.
It was a Paul Verhoeven film from 2006: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0389557/
DeleteThe movie Black Book hasn't been available to stream on Netflix for a couple of years. I know because I wanted to watch that one but regrettably never got around to it due to how many movies in My List were expiring that month.

DeleteThanks, Luke.

ReplyDeleteMuppets from Space
DeleteI don't see Muppets from Space streaming, only on DVD. Do you have a url for the streaming site? Or can you tell us where you found the info that it is expiring? Thanks.
Fine, i think Muppets from Space was streaming in Asia Pacific.

DeleteOh, that explains it - Thanks.

Just a quick couple of questions, I am sure most of you know this but I do not...
ReplyDeleteWhy do so many movies expire? Especially so many good ones like Pursuit of Happiness and Shawshank Redemption...I am sure these movies get watched on a daily basis all over the country and well worth it for Netflix to keep them.
I know, some of these titles have ran out their contract with Netflix and they couldn't come to terms on renewing them...but that really sucks bad. When they leave, where to they go?

Clash Royale. . . Please make sure that any titles you submit are expiring in the U.S. Our readers count on the information in comments, and there's enough to keep track of without having info that isn't relevant for U.S. customers. I know we have some international readers, but we're just not able to handle titles that are expiring in other countries. The website unogs.com does a good job of that. Thanks.
