Just discovered The Glades and am only on Season One! I hate to see it go-a nice change from some of the incredibly violent shows while well-acted and compelling, are difficult to watch.
It appears so. Ghost Whisperer is scheduled to expire, come July 1 (our list puts titles on the last day to watch, which is June 30). Could it end up being renewed? We don't know the answer to that, because we have no connection to Netflix and their inner workings. It's probably best to assume that it will be discontinued. If it's a favorite that you like to re-watch, you can probably find it on another streaming service, such as Hulu.
I can't confirm it was ever there, but I've seen people saying 'The Jihadis Next Door' has been removed, as it apparently featured one of the London attackers.
The Jihadis Next Door was added to Netflix December 31 last year, according to New on Netflix USA, which still has it listed as being on NF. So, yeah, looks like it was taken off without notice; can't speak to the reason why. Thanks Anonymous.
It is more or less confirmed in the UK. Link: http://metro.co.uk/2017/06/06/netflix-has-taken-down-the-jihadis-next-door-documentary-featuring-london-terrorist-6689063/
Notflix I am peeved but I will rant somewhere else. http://www.tvguide.com/news/netflix-removing-futurama-fan-reaction/ Futurama season 6 and up expiring.
Everyone, please note: It is actually seasons 1 through 6 that are expiring (last day is June 30). Seasons 7 - 10 will remain. Also, the seasons on Netflix do not match exactly to the television series, which in itself is confusing: Netflix 1-6 = tv series 1-5 Netflix 7-10 = tv series 6-7 There were only 7 seasons in the television series. For clarification, and a listing of all aired episodes, see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Futurama_episodes#Season_1_.281999.29
Sorry, ds4ever_us, only season 9 is not expiring. Seasons 1-8 are still scheduled for last day 6/28. If you start to watch one of those episodes, at the very beginning, there is a notice in the upper left corner of the screen - it's only on for a few seconds, and only appears once a day per season. The Netflix site places that normally show an "available until" notice, i.e., My List and the "details" page of the shows info, do not have this information when only some seasons are expiring. Also, it doesn't show up on sites such as uNoGS.com. Dirty pool, I say!
Hi Wellesley72, I just responded to Tony's comment (go up a few) with some clarification about what's expiring. Looks like the FOX-owned material is being yanked by them (FOX). I think what's staying is owned by another entity, maybe Comedy Central. The article referenced in my comment helped me to understand the evolution of the series.
Thanks. And thanks for explaining what seasons are expiring. I agree with you that, like the earlier expirations of Fox content, this is likely a case of Fox not renewing its license AND not Netflix choosing not to renew. Fox is a part-owner of Hulu and if Futurama isn't on Hulu now, I expect it to be added shortly.
Hi, thank you for maintaining this blog! Do you know what's happening/where "Barbie Life in the Dreamhouse" is going? Is there another season coming on or is altogether gone? My girls love this show. Thank you.
Thanks, will g. I did the update early today (wouldn't ya know), so the titles we don't already have will go on the list tomorrow. We DO already have the 3 titles for 6/30, and Two Weeks Notice for 7/2.
I'm skeptical about Futurama losing only Season 6. I looked at the TV Guide press release, which said: "Netflix announced its list of last call titles for July and Futurama fans can breathe easy. "Despite onscreen warnings to the contrary, Netflix isn't removing the popular animated comedy from their library on July 1. Instead, fans will only miss out on Season 6, which is the sole season being removed next month." (http://www.tvguide.com/news/whats-leaving-netflix-in-july-2017/)
Are they going solely by the listing on the press release? Because Netflix is known to get seasons wrong there. If there was some definitive statement from Netflix, I would have liked to have had that clarified. Why are the onscreen warnings still up for seasons 1-5? Previous articles said that Fox was pulling the show from Netflix. Were they wrong, or did Netflix offer more money to get Fox to relent?
will g, did you see this info at tvguide.com also, or did you see it on another source? After the big hullabaloo over Futurama leaving, I would have expected to see something specific from Netflix saying they renegotiated the deal.
No that's where I got the press release info, they were the first to post it. TV Guide would SEEM to be an authoritative source and I doubt they would publish that without corroboration from Netflix, so I THINK we can assume it's true.
Fansided has also reported that only Season 6 of Futurama is expiring followed in parenthesis by a statement that fan outcry was overblown. Looking at other sites, it is clear to me that Season 6 was the only season mentioned in the Netflix press release. I confess that removing only Season 6 (which I believe was the last season the show was on Fox) makes no sense. Since Netflix never releases a complete list of content expiring in a particular month, maybe this is another case of seasons disappearing on different dates. Or maybe Netflix is just lying.
if fan outcry was overblown before, wait until they find out the hard way seasons 1-5 were also removed despite reassurances from web sites that uncritically publish netflix's press releases.
In trying to search for these titles, I encountered something odd-- not sure if it's just me...
When I tried to search "The Adventures of Pepper and Paula" Netflix gave me ZERO results.
Likewise, trying to search: "Adventures of..." minus "The..." turned up nothing.
So I tried searching for just "Paula and Pepper," and I finally got it.
When I found the correct page, it seems to list the title as "Adventures of..." rather than "THE Adventures of..." which is odd, since "Adventures of..." also gave me zero search results.
Also paint me as skeptical on Futurama. I've been burned before on the press release with titles being listed departing even though we have nothing of that sort available and for titles that were supposed to come but never did.
Will agree that it makes little sense to pull random seasons from TV shows, although there is precedent (American Dad).
I called Netflix Customer Service, twice. Both times, I was assured seasons 1-6 of Futurama would be expiring on July 1. They had something from their Content Dept. they were looking at. Both also gave me dates for the remaining seasons of Futurama: Season 10: Scheduled to expire on December 10, 2017 Season 9: Scheduled to expire on February 9, 2018 Season 8: Scheduled to expire on February 18, 2018 Season 7: Scheduled to expire on February 19, 2018 (The last day to watch will be one day earlier.)
One of the reps told me ALL FOX shows would be leaving Netflix within the next year. Sorry, didn't have the guts to ask for all the dates - maybe I'll try that next time.
Anyway, for those of you who want to watch the Futurama episodes before they leave, I would advise catching seasons 1-6 before July 1.
Hey all, I just posted a comment to the "My List" discussion page about recent troubles with changing the sort order. If you have a similar situation or any solutions, please go there to comment: https://expiringonnetflix.blogspot.com/p/discussion-new-my-list-format.html Thank you!
6/29 Autistic Driving School (2010) The Autistic Me: One Year On (2010) Blink (1994) Born to Fly (2014) Britain’s Weirdest Phobias (2008) Dead Behind Bars (2014) Frontline Fighting: The Brits Battling Isis (2015) Hunting Britain’s Most Wanted (2011) Men in Rubber Masks (2014) My Transgender Kid (2015) Revenge Porn (2015) The Ultimate Guide to Penny Pinching (2011) What’s Manzai?!!! (2016)
Here are the last of the 6/30 titles, from uNoGS.com. We should have everything, now, unless there are any series with only some seasons expiring that we haven't discovered.
6/30 How I Got Over (2014) Justin Bieber: Never Say Never (2011) Katt Williams: 9 Lives (2010) Katt Williams Presents: Katthouse Comedy (2009) Pantani: The Accidental Death of a Cyclist (2014)
CanandaiguaNY, thank you for your contributions. However, your layout format is creating more work for Carol. Please refrain from including the words "Last Day" with your dates. Carol has to manually delete them one by one, instead of simply copying and pasting all of your titles into her automated tool program in a single pass. Your comments after the (release year) beside each title are not a problem.
Perhaps a refresher is in order. See the Submit Titles - Guidelines link at the top of the page.
You, too, Eric. Dates on one line followed by titles on the next lines for Master List submissions. LIke this:
07-Jul Mono (2016)
Either date format 07-Jul or 7/7 works fine with the program. Your one-line format only works for Reviews, which are processed by a different automated tool program. Thanks for your cooperation and many contributions.
Thanks LarryG. For all contributors: Many of you have your own format for contributions of expiring titles. I haven't said anything about this, because I'm very, very grateful to all of you who take the time to find and share these titles. However, LarryG is correct when he points out that some of these formats create extra work when processing.
While I'd rather have contributions in Morse code than not at all, it would be a great help to me if everyone would use the following conventions:
> If you want to specify "last date/s," put those words once at the top of your comment, above the date and titles. > Put the date on one line, and the title/s on subsequent lines. (Either bold or non-bold is fine.) > Please put the year (the one Netflix uses) in parentheses after each title. > If you have a short comment you want to share, put that after the title and year, on the same line, or at the bottom of your comment, after all the titles. > If you have more than one date, please put a space before each new date.
When titles are submitted this way, I can just copy/paste them from your comment into the program LarryG created, and it does all the work to make them part of the master list. Otherwise, I have to re-format them first, look up title years, etc., to make them work.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. I really appreciate the crowd-sourcing we do here, and you all are a terrific crowd!
Renewals: Smithsonian Channel shows scheduled for last day June 30: All but four of these are no longer showing an availability date. It's possible the four will also be renewed - the last time this happened, the shows came back over three days. For now though, the four that still show as expiring are: Nazi Temple of Doom (2013) The Real Story - 1 Season (2010) The Seven Dwarfs of Auschwitz (2013) Speed Kills - 2 Seasons (3 episodes each) (2014)
Renewals: 16 of the titles on the June 29 list have been renewed. I'm not going to list them here, in the comment, but they are all marked on the master list.
Renewals: As anticipated, 3 more Smithsonian Channel shows have been renewed. Now the only one that still has an expiration notice is The Real Story - 1 Season (2010). I'd bet money it will be renewed tomorrow.
All titles in above comments have been added to the master list.
Also noted on the list today: 2 Renewals: Katt Williams Presents: Katthouse Comedy (2009) - on the 6/30 list Curious and Unusual Deaths - Season 2 (2012) - on the 7/16 list
7/31 Alphas - Season 2 (2012) Dancing on the Edge - 1 Season (2013) El Chavo - 1 Season (1979) The Heavy Water War - 1 Season (2015) Hunter X Hunter - 5 Seasons (2013) The IT Crowd - 5 Seasons (2013) Justice League - 2 Seasons (2003) Justice League Unlimited - 2 Seasons (2005) The Kindness Diaries - 1 Season (2015) Young Justice - 2 Seasons (2012)
I have the feeling there are more series that will expire at month-end. Check your lists. Any that you don't find should show up on uNoGS.com at some point later today. I hope there aren't too many.
7/8 Alpha and Omega: Dino Digs (2016) Note: The other Alpha and Omega movie is not currently scheduled to expire. Dust to Glory (2005)
7/31 Babe Winkelman’s Outdoor Secrets - 1 Season (2008) The Delivery Man - 1 Season (2015) The Hunt - 1 Season (2012) Note: There are 2 with this title. The big-game hunting series is expiring, not the BBC nature series. La Suegra - 1 Season (2014) Lindner’s Fishing Edge - 1 Season (2013) Lunch Monkeys - 2 Seasons (2011) SheZow - 1 Season (2012) Small Time Gangster - 1 Season (2011) The Ultimate Fishing Experience - 1 Season (2014) Wild Ones - 1 Season (2016)

DeleteThanks, will g. I did the update early today (wouldn't ya know), so the titles we don't already have will go on the list tomorrow. We DO already have the 3 titles for 6/30, and Two Weeks Notice for 7/2.
I'm skeptical about Futurama losing only Season 6. I looked at the TV Guide press release, which said:
"Netflix announced its list of last call titles for July and Futurama fans can breathe easy.

DeleteThanks, will g. I agree with your logic, and hope you're right. I'll be checking every day to see if the availability notices come off.
Deleteif fan outcry was overblown before, wait until they find out the hard way seasons 1-5 were also removed despite reassurances from web sites that uncritically publish netflix's press releases.
DeleteIn trying to search for these titles, I encountered something odd-- not sure if it's just me...
DeleteWhen I tried to search "The Adventures of Pepper and Paula" Netflix gave me ZERO results.
Here's the page for that title:
https://www.netflix.com/title/80044563
That is odd, the press release is usually good about listing titles accurately.
DeleteAlthough contrary to what you said, I did find it by searching "Adventures of..." minus the "The."
DeleteOOPS I now see that was my mistake, not the press release's. I carelessly copied the title from IMDb. I USUALLY don't do that, sorry.
DeleteAlso paint me as skeptical on Futurama. I've been burned before on the press release with titles being listed departing even though we have nothing of that sort available and for titles that were supposed to come but never did.
DeleteWill agree that it makes little sense to pull random seasons from TV shows, although there is precedent (American Dad).
DeleteOn the Huffington Post press release it lists: “Futurama” (Seasons 1 - 6).
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/heres-everything-leaving-and-arriving-on-netflix-in-july-2017_us_594ae15ee4b01cdedf001f60
I wonder if Netflix "corrected" its press release after various outlets reported that Seasons 1 to 5 were not being dropped.

DeleteI called Netflix Customer Service, twice. Both times, I was assured seasons 1-6 of Futurama would be expiring on July 1. They had something from their Content Dept. they were looking at. Both also gave me dates for the remaining seasons of Futurama:
Season 10: Scheduled to expire on December 10, 2017
Season 9: Scheduled to expire on February 9, 2018
Season 8: Scheduled to expire on February 18, 2018
Season 7: Scheduled to expire on February 19, 2018
(The last day to watch will be one day earlier.)
That is why I refuse to watch any FOX shows old or current on NF I know they will be all gone by 2018.
DeleteSince the removal of Doctor Who, I have learned never to underestimate the ability of Netflix to tick off its subscribers in the U.S.

DeletePerhaps a refresher is in order. See the Submit Titles - Guidelines link at the top of the page.
You, too, Eric. Dates on one line followed by titles on the next lines for Master List submissions. LIke this:
07-Jul
Mono (2016)
Either date format 07-Jul or 7/7 works fine with the program. Your one-line format only works for Reviews, which are processed by a different automated tool program. Thanks for your cooperation and many contributions.
DeleteThanks LarryG.
(Either bold or non-bold is fine.)
> Please put the year (the one Netflix uses) in parentheses after each title.
